The “Reporting Paris” practicum is a hands-on journalistic workshop where students will produce multimedia output in a newsroom setting focusing on what goes on in Paris in the summer of 2025. Using video, photo and written journalism, students will explore the city in search of material for news stories, feature pieces and photo essays, with topics including cultural events, fashion, music, culinary experiences, and other lifestyle themes which are plentiful in Paris. The focus can, however, shift to current affairs, politics and diplomacy depending on the news flow in France before and during the practicum.
Contingent on student skills and preferences, output will include a TV broadcast program featuring anchors, correspondents, camera teams, expert interviews, news packages and analysis. The course production will be published on AUP’s student media platform Peacock Media which has a large audience among AUP students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
