deeply marked French society, sparked numerous societal debates, and ultimately, have shaped attitudes and laws. This course will facilitate organizing debates, improving opinion expression, acquiring the necessary vocabulary to qualify statements and address more complex themes, both
in writing and orally.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will understand announcements, simple audio interviews, short presentations and videos, provided that they know something about the subject and that the presenter talks slowly and clearly.
  2. Students will understand the main points and the important details in stories, simple articles, and announcements of a certain length.
  3. Students will write simple and coherent texts on topics that are familiar or of personal interest, personal letters or emails to briefly express their opinion (based on their experience) or give advice.
  4. Students will talk about familiar subjects that interest them and interact with people using standard language in a relatively long discussion on everyday subjects.
