DISCOVERING PARIS THROUGH THE PERFORMING ARTS in Fall 2024 (DR1099FB15)

In this course, we explore the city of Paris through the discovery of different theatrical venues and how the traces of theatrical performance are found everywhere in the city. Through cultural visits and viewing of theatrical performances and films, we will visit different neighborhoods in Paris where artists found their ideas and inspirations to their artistic creation. We will also invite some Paris-based performing artists to our class who are working and creating theatre today. In the course of the semester, students will be asked to prepare performance projects as their mid-term and final assignments.
